ALL PAU!

Day 30, came and went... and only now, after a week and a half has gone by, I blog about it.  Typical!

So the hardest part about the whole this is the blogging...making the time to blog EVERY DAY was very hard.  Blogging is very time consuming, especially if you're not use to doing it.  Although, I'm glad I did it. It held me accountable to working out and sharing my experience.

Oh, something so funny about my last day was that I almost forgot to get a workout in...damn, that would have sucked. Can you imagine, 29 days and on the 30th day you forget? I couldn't imagine, I would have been so disappointed. But, it's okay...I DID IT!  October 5th was my last day of the challenge. I had the closing shift, which means getting home around 11pm at night (not the most ideal time to workout. in some cases you gotta do what you gotta do). So, in the morning I got completely distracted with work and doing laundry.  By the time I realized that I didn't workout I had to go to work.  There was absolutely no time for me to squeeze in a workout.. so that meant working out at midnight.

I was dreading my workout all evening.  When I got home from work I sat on the couch and contemplated doing something, but the motivation was it was DAY 30.  Finally around 11:40pm I got into some workout clothes and went for a midnight run/walk intervals with Nahla, my dog.  And we finished it off with a nice walk on the beach... looking up at the sky, lit by all the stars!!! It was perfect, tranquil ending to my 30 day challenge.

Day 30. ALL PAU!!!

Now, it's all about living an active, healthy, FUN life!!!

You Got It, You're A Beast!

Day 28.

Sleep. Sleep. and more sleep.  It was my day off...yay!!

This is what my day looked like. Wake up. Breakfast. Watch football. Nap till 4:30pm. Wake up. Go to lululemon. Genki and a green tea latte...by the time I got home it was 8:15pm.  Most of my day was spent sleeping, and don't worry I'm not complaining. I loved it!

I got home and decided to go for a run with my nahla girl...she was pooped so she only ran with me for half the time, I took her home, and continued the rest of my fun.  I went for a 4 mile run in Lanikai, the temperature is so cool at night. I love it! I forgot how therapeutic running is, such a great stress reliever. You just keep running, and let your thoughts become nothings. Get into a zone, find a rhythm and just go!

I need to do this more often.

Day 27.

Saturday workout with Jack and Danyelle...fitness gone bad! Check out their blog.

It was another fun workout, no smiling and laughing by the first round. It was all laughs and smiles as we started the workout, but after the first minute it was all about getting it done! Heavy breathing and heavy concentration on every movement. And of course Jackie cracking me up... quote of the day "Jax, you got it. You're a beast!" Hahaha... don't let Jackie fool you, that girl knows how to workout!!! She gets it done!

Workout of the Day:
7 Thrusters
7 Ring pulls/pull-ups/inverted rows
AMRAP (as many rounds as possible) in 7mins

3 minutes rest

7 KBS (kettle bell swings) - 20lbs
7 Push-ups
AMRAP in 7mins

It was a great workout, we were all pooped after! Aunty Flora was taking pictures, and Jack did the workout with us this time!! yay! It was his first time doing the workout with us, usually he's coaching us through it, but not this time.  It was all of us, Jackie, Danyelle, Jack and me all working out together... OH SO FUN!!! LOVE IT!

Danyelle and Jack as the BEST!!!

Day 26.

Friday was a busy day.. work at 7am, didn't get home till 4:30pm, went down for a nap and then dinner with the family.  Didn't have time to get a workout in before dinner, so at 10 o'clock at night I decided to get a workout in.  A little crossfit workout that I got from Hardass fitness that inspired lululemon Ala Moana's 'Drop 10 Tuesdays' featuring our Ambassador Kimo and his gym Hardass Fitness.  Here's the workout that I decided to do at 10 o'clock at night:

Drop 10.

50 Squats
40 Lunges
30 Push-ups
20 Sit-ups
10 Burpees

Man, that workout didn't feel so good at night, especially after dinner.  It took me a little longer to get through the workout, but I'm glad I did it! Phew, I did it!

Dripping Sweat!

Day 23.

I started my day off today with some pilates, a private class with Jill. It was a very hard class, a lot of micro movements targeting specific muscle groups that you don't use very often. Jill calls these dead zones, which can easily be awaken, especially by her awesome moves.  She really targets those dead zones and oh, don't you worry, you feel them with every move you do.  As soon as the practice started I felt them and I my body was warming up.  Sweat started to roll down the side of my face, damn! I haven't sweat in her studio like that in months.  My body usually gets heated, but nothing like today.  It felt like I was doing a crossfit workout I was sweating so much...I was literally DRIPPING SWEAT!

But it's all worth it! It's great to be back practicing with Jill.  I missed her and all her equipment!! Today we used the tower, the chair, the ball, along with all her props that she incorporates too. We did it all, except the reformer.  I was like a kid in a toy store, so many toys to play with!!!

All I know is that Jill's fusion of yoga and pilates is unreal and it's a MUST!!! If you haven't been to her yoga class or studio.....GO! Humu Yoga and Pilates, her private studio or she teaches at Aloha Yoga Kula.  She is AWESOME!

Day 23. Done!

Running and Yoga tomorrow....Coco's 6:15pm Vinyasa Flow class @ Diamond Head Yoga.

Be there!

C-O-C-O

Day 22.

Vinyasa flow with C-O-C-O!! My first time taking her vinyasa class, oh man she makes you sweat. I absolutely loved her class, I couldn't help but laugh and smile as Coco took us through her core series at the end of the class.  She just sits in the front of the class with her legs up, arms straight, and talking with a huge grin on her face.  I don't know how she does it. She makes the core series look so easy, and I struggle throughout the entire series trying to keep my legs and arm straight.  It's just a fun class with great energy. I love it!

Coco has a true passion for yoga and it shines through into her teaching.  She gives amazing adjustments throughout the practice, getting you deeper into your practice.  Don't be fooled by her size, she is ridiculously strong! Check her out at Diamond Head Yoga or show up to one of her classes.  Next class is Wednesday at 6:15pm.  Be prepared to sweat and get worked... a lot of balance and strength! You'll love it!

Day 22. Done!

Back to pilates with Jill.... can't wait!!

Power House Fitness Insanity!

Day 21.
3 weeks baby!!

I have survived 3 weeks, although it feels like forever.  Working out or engaging in some type of physical activity every day has become a habit for me now.  I put it in my schedule, look for new classes, and workout with friends! And the most exiting part is that it's ALL soo much FUN!

Today, I went to class at Power House Fitness Pearl Kai with Susan and Millie, hardcore athletes and lululemon addicts!  Power House has a really nice set up, nice equipment and very functional fitness rooms.  This mornings class was an insanity style class, and yes, it was insane. Our instructor Yuko had us pushing it, working our butts off and sweat-ING!  I was breathing hard after warm-up, and we still had 11 stations with cardio in between each, I was a mess from the get go.  Mind you, it didn't help that I could feel yesterday's WOD as I did Yuko's exercises.  But hey, I'm starting to like the feeling!  Yuko's energy and music definitely carried the class, she had it bumpin' up in there.  As for me, there was no room for smiling, talking, or laughing, I was concentrating way too hard just trying to make it through each station and cardio set...oh, and did mention there were burpees today too!  Man there is no escaping them for me!! It's okay I am learning to embrace them...haha!

Well, I had fun, got a great workout in, and enjoyed my day off!! It's so nice getting the workout done in the morning because you have the rest of the day to enjoy...aaaawwww, love it!

Now, it's time for bed and a new week of classes! Tomorrow is Coco's vinyasa flow. Never done it before, I'm sure it'll be amazing!
